On November 1, 2016 I was the guest Figure Drawing Instructor for Alright DrawNite at The Brick for “Dia de los Muertos”. Live models provided by “Beyond the Canvas” posed painted to the theme of the “Day of the Dead,” while music and varied arts organizations provide an ambiance that allowed all participants to sketch from live models.
 

On July 15, 2017 I presented a full day workshop entitled, “Picture Board Story Boarding for Writers & Illustrators” through SCBWI in San Antonio at the University of the Incarnate Word. Participants were to sketch, write and plot their story from start to finish for a new picture book. Topics covered included the story arc, character development, pacing, setting and page turns to help give their story interest and depth.
 

On September 23, 2017 as the SCBWI Texas: Southwest Regional Illustrator Coordinator, I helped conduct one of our first monthly Chapter meetings: “The Fall Round-up & Critique Groups” at Barnes & Noble in San Antonio. Meetings such as these bring together writers and illustrators to discuss their work and improve on their craft.
